Strange Invisible Perfumes
Botanical perfumer Alexandra Balahoutis founded Strange Invisible Perfumes with a desire to create the perfumes she was never able to find; real botanical fragrances with layers of aromatic nuance, wildcrafted essences, and mysterious technique. Inspired by the golden age of perfumery as well as winemaking and the vineyards of Napa Valley, she began her self-taught odyssey using a palette of strictly botanical essences. Her techniques showcase mystery and play on the idea of fragrance as something narrative, strange, and intimate that enchants the imagination and defies description.
"Our essences are completely natural, botanical, and reverently hydrodistilled from biodynamic, wild-crafted, and certified organic plants. Hydrodistillation is a gentle immersion method that captures the complete aromatic profile of a plant, including the fine aroma chemicals that cannot be captured with steam distillation. With the exception of organic honeycomb, we do not use essences from animals. We never use synthetic aromas, perfume flavorings, or isolates. All raw materials are sourced or made by our master distiller and approved by botanical perfumer and founder Alexandra Balahoutis. The only way to know what you are buying is to know who you are buying it from. We purchase our essential oils directly from distillers we trust."
