This fragrance is characterized by a strong essence of incense tamed by the crisp citrus accents and woodsy drydown. The following unique notes are brought together in 1681, the rich new essence in which a thousand different intensities converge into a sensation of refined complexity.  1681 is named for the year the Carthusian monks of the Certosa di San Giacomo on the island of Capri reportedly began crafting fragrances using local materials. It opens with a spicy, sharp blend of citrus and herbs (coriander, red thyme, rosemary) together with petit grain and lavender.  It dries down to a creamy and smooth cedar pencil with light incense. It’s more dry than not (the vanilla is just a dab) . It is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a spicy woods for summer.
