Avignon Eau de Toilette by Comme des Garcons.
Series 3 Incense was launched in 2002 and was devoted to the five main spiritual teachings of the humanity: Incense, to make one dream of a spiritual journey across the world's historical centers. An evolution of time and space. Avignon is Catholicism, named after the city of Avignon in the south of France, the Provence region. It was a very influential Catholic center in the 14th century. This is a smell of gothic cathedrals, their vast and high halls, goblins and tapestries that were absorbing the sacred frankincense smell for centuries.
Avignon starts dark, gloomy and rather strong, approximating the immediate effect of a priest swinging the censer during prayers. The scent is evocative of the smells of frankincense and myrrh, giving way to a smoky and resinous heart with dry vanilla, soft Roman chamomile and very light dry notes of patchouli dulling the edges of this reverent fragrance. Of the five fragrances in the series, it has the most direct focus on the frankincense note, and so for many Westerners (even those who have no association with the Roman Catholic church) it will come closest to the aroma traditionally associated with incense.
Notes: Roman Camomile, Cistus Oil, Elemi, Incense, Vanilla, Patchouli, Palisander.

Shipping was really fast and the price is good in Canadian dollars. I think this is a good incense perfume by Bertrand Duchaufour, and it seems to be a reference incense perfume for many people.
